Harris Institute is located in a century old 15,000 square foot industrial building in Old Town Toronto designed by Massey Hall’s architect George M. Miller. The repurposed building includes three recording studios, five classrooms, four computer labs, an electronics lab, library and student lounge.

The campus is centrally located in one of the world’s most culturally diverse cities. It is accessible by public transit and in close proximity to a wide range of student residences.

Interior Before

Studios

Internationally renowned studio designer Martin Pilchner designed Harris Institute’s recording studios.  They feature three control rooms for music recording, audio post, electronic music production and game audio.  Control Room A features the TEC Award winning SSL AWS console. 

Martin Pilchner has been nominated for the TEC Award for “Studio Designer of the Year” eleven times.  He is the Associate Director of the Audio Production Program and has taught Studio Design, Acoustics and Computer Science at Harris Institute since 1989.
